Yvonne's Story

I remember when we lived in this old house a moreno ave lakeside and I was 4 years old. I remember the house had corn fields in front of the house and my brother kenny would run thru them fields and try to scare me because he was a year older than me, he got away with alot of stuff. One day I was swinging in an old tire hanging from the tree and he had my dads B B gun and he came over and shot me in the leg. He was always getting into trouble.... was a very active youngster. I remember going to the hospital and everything, still got the scar!!! My best friend from our brand new neighborhood our families move to in 1956. It is around north mollison and pepper drive. Her name is linda carroll. we went to magnolia elementary through 7th grade. Her father decided to move up north to redding ,ca. because he thought east county was to wild for his 2 girls. But me and her did alot of fun things before they left. One time she was going to get in trouble for something and decided to run away, now mind you we were only 8 years old. I said I would go with her because I didn't want her to go alone. At that time in the 50' they wasn't much around our houses was real county with alot of opened fields to play in. At the end of my street they was a dead in where no traffic could go through and there was this big mound of dirt where we would play all the time. we would ride bikes over it and eventualy had made a big hole in the center so that is where we decided to run away to. I remember getting blankets and box of jello and cool aid packs to eat, and she brought peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. we figured we would cover up with the blankets so nobody would see us, it was still lite out and we were ok. Off a little ways there was this jewish woman that always frightened me with her stories about the holloculst and how the germans were killing the jewish people and would shoot them and put them all in the same gave and cover them up with dirt and the ground would move up and down because some were still breathing....I knew nothing about this stuff untill I got much older, and she scared the crap out of me. I will never forget her and her stories. So me a linda stayed there for along time while it was still light out, now mind you we were only about 4 houses down the street in this big dirt hole.As it started to get darker we he...Expand for more
ard our parents and siblings calling for us and we knew we were in deep trouble! So we ate all our food and it was getting darker and darker and the jewish lady lived close to our hideout and her stories came back to me. Now our parents knew we played there alot and I don't know what we were thinking... so sure enough my brother went down there and found us and told us we were going to get a spanking.....well why should I get a spanking? I was just running away because my friend was mad at her dad!! Sure enough my parents didn't think it was so funny so guess what? a spanking for me. and I thought I wonder what" 'father know best" would have done. i FIGURED he would have talked to kitten but she wouldn't have been spanked. I loved that program I always related to little kitten cause she was the youngest child and was always getting into trouble with her brother and sister. i must say linda got into alot of touble and weren't aloud to play together for a few days. I love this story. Well about 1 1/2 years ago I was walking to the eye dr. on broadway el cajon. I heard all this music and alot of other noise iI wasn't sure of so I walked over and peeked in the window and saw a buch of all ages, sizes, and looks. I watched for a while and they were acting like they were having alot of fun dancing....hmmm go figure. So I went into the eye dr. and then went back to that place and signed up. The name is gazzersize on broadway next to howards backery, I am sure everyone remembers that place. So that how I get all my love for dancing in. great place I like the sports with all my neices and nephews and of course my grand-kids are playing. From football to basketball and baseball all years long, and of course THEY are the STARS to me, as for me my obsession right now is gazzersize, I like to go and meet alot of new people I never knew. I would think that another obsession is just living LIFE,FAMILY, GREAT FRIENDS, and most of all GOD. Don't know what I would do if I wasn't able to talk to him. I don't watch much t.v. anymore but when I do it's usually medical channels, true murders shows, and I just haven't been into t.v. lately, much rather be with other people untill bed time. I know that by having someone more inportant an my-self taught me compassion, how to feel from the heart for another human being, and how when they hurt WE hurt bad. This would be my CHILDREN, I would go or do almost anything for them, cause when I was younger I had no clue that there was anything more inportant than myself..
