Zanelle's Story

I think you all remember me as a very quiet girl. Not so much anymore! This Story Wizard is funny . . . I always wanted to be a dancer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a out-of-reach idea. As it turns out, they were WRONG. I danced competitive Country/Western across the country from West Coast to East Coast from 1993 until 1999. I loved it! I'm going through a rough time right now, but my favorite way to relax is either a soaking in a warm bath sipping a Cuba Libra (rum and coke with a twist of Lime) or diving into a good book. The wildest thing I ever did in school. Well, hmmm . . . well, the wildest one is my secret! But, I was the first girl Tuba player in Antlers Band. We needed a tuba for marching band and all the boys were playing football. So, my Senior year I switched from clarinet to tuba and had to learn how to read treble clef music. But, I loved tuba much better than clarinet. My heroes? My Dad, even though he was an alcoholic, he was an amazing man. elligent man and was a jack-of-all-trades kind of man. That spoiled me, because it took me a big portion of my adult life to figure out that not all men know how to do anything and everything. My Mom because she was so confident in everything she did. She was very positive and never raised her voice in discipline. My parents loved one another passionately and truly and there was never anyone else but each other in their eyes. Another hero is my cousin, Grady Lindly, because of how he treats his wife and his daughters. He loves his wife very much and it doesn't take long of being around him that you know it in the way he speaks about his wife. Where have I lived? Well . . . in Long Beach, CA (where my first husband was stationed on the USS Long Beach) for about 7 months and then we moved to beautiful Oregon. I lived there for 16 years in Bend, then John Day before moving to Arlington, Texas in 1989. I lived in Arlington until January 2003 when I moved back to Antlers and bought the Donut shop from my brother, Robin. I had to close the donut shop in October 2007, but I am still in Antlers.
