Zayjean's Story

Life I was married for 17 years, had been divorced for 14 years when I met a great guy at a Methodist Singles Retreat in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His name is Chip Clark and we married on May 22, 2005. [Pretty cool, getting my maiden name back !!!] (We took our honeymoon to Cloudcroft and to Carlsbad for the "Reunion of the Bands" annual event at the Country Club.) Chip is Director of Operations for UT Tyler so in August '05 I moved from Dallas (where I had been for over 10 years) to Tyler. I am working for a law firm here in Tyler. Tyler is deep East Texas and the country is beautiful ! UPDATE: Chip is now Associate Vice-President of Facilities at UT Tyler. I have one son, Chad, who is a CPA and lives in Lewisville, a suburb of Dallas . He is married to a wonderful lady, Bethany. She has her Masters in Speech Pathology and works for Denton County. They had a little girl, Reagan Elise, born August 25, 2005 and, of course, she is gorgeous and I love being "Granma Zay" ! She adores her "Granpa Chip" !!! UPDATE: Reagan is 10 years old, and our grandson Caleb is five years old. Bethany is a stay at home Mom and teaches music at a Christian school a couple of days a week. Chad is Vice-President of his company. Our favorite pasttime, hobby, and form of exercise is dancing. We have joined a couple of ballroom dance clubs here in Tyler so we get to dance fairly often. We originated and chaired a fundraiser here in Tyler called "Dancing with the Tyler Stars" (like the TV show). It benefits Tyler AIDS Servi...Expand for more
ces of which I am a board member. The event was held in 2006, 2007 and is in the planning stages for 2008. UPDATE : we produced this show, the last for Tyler AIDS Services in 2013. We produced a show like this last year benefitting Tyler Area Senior Citizens. We hope to do another show next spring 2016 for Tyler Area Senior Citizens and for Veterans scholarships at UT Tyler. We are members of Green Acres Baptist Church here in Tyler. The church averages around 5,000 in attendance every Sunday in three worship services. We make a trip every summer to Carlsbad and Cloudcroft. We are waiting to see if the Class of '68 has a reunion before we decide on when we will be making the trip this year. UPDATE: We have attended a class reunion for the classes of 1967-70 for the 40th & 45th reunions. Planning on attending the Class of 1970, 45 year reunion this October. UPDATE: I retired as of July 30 from Tyler ISD, Human Resources. It would be really fun to get together in Carlsbad with anyone who happens to be there. I would love to hear from old friends. GOD BLESS !! Update: I am currently unemployed (and not hating it too much !!) We are working on "Dancing with the Tyler Stars" 2009. Chip was an instructor last year (and will be again this year). He and his "Star" Courtney (a young reporter for Channel 7) won the women's division which made them runner-ups !! We made our Carlsbad/Cloudcroft trip the end of May. We are looking forward to the 40 year class reunion in September. See you there !!!
