A's Story
To all who may be interested, Putnam Heights opened in 1909. There was to have been a 100 year Celebration in 2009 but it never materialized.
As many of you may know, PH was to be closed due to its age, not totally up to code, no elevator, etc. but in OKC, a local initiative called MAPS for Kids created the opportunity for PH to be renovated and upgraded and it is thriving!
Many of my Classmates began Kindergarten in September 1949. I came the next September and at least 30 of us continued together at PH until late May 1956. Many of us had siblings who also attended PH for 6 or 7 years. Some of us still have friends from those ...Expand for more
years even though we might not have gone to the same Jr. and/or Sr. High School.
Some of us still have friends from other grades at PH. Accordingly, I have considered seeking to have an ALL 1950's Class Reunion which would be close to 600 who attended PH during those years but, of course, some have passed and many of the Lady Panthers would have different last names and that would make it difficult to locate quite a few UNLESS they view this on this site or someone who knows that THE Panthers are "considering" an ALL 1950's Panthers Reunion!
