A. Raino's Story
I am on the MHS class of 1976 Reunion Committee, so I'll probably try to contact you about that! mhs1976(dot)org
1976-graduated MHS, went on 600 mile bike trip, went to Marquette U. and went to lots of rock concerts. 1977-met my wife and went to more concerts with her. Also started to auto-cross. 1978-started engineering co-op program worked for Sun Electric and S&C Electric Companies in Chicago, went to more concerts. 1980-went on Alaskan innner-passage cruise. 1981-Graduated college, started working at Naval Avionics center in Indpls, IN. Not many concerts in Indy. Went to 5 year reunion. 1982-got married to Karen Hoffman from Des Plains, IL and moved to St. Louis-Lots of concerts in St. Louis!1983-bought first house. 1984-bought first NEW car, got Boris the cat. 1985-went to Germany. Also bought second house, a real party house, CA style. 1986-went to Korea, 10 year reunion. 1989-went to China, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. Also started autocrossing again-oh, what a feeling! 1990-got into a rock band 1991-went to Europe for my grandmother's 90th B'day. also went to 15 year reunion. 1992-went on first Caribbean cruise. 1993-Survived the "Great flood of '93", and went on a raft trip through the Grand Canyon- WooHoo! 1995-went to Myrtle Beach, SC, bought our project house (the one where we now live), found out afterward that my job was moving...Expand for more
to Huntsville, AL (without me, but they didn't know that). 1995-97-didn't go anywhere, mostly worked on the project house. 1997-started computer business with a partner. 1998-The U.S. Air Force gave me an offer I couldn't refuse, so I took the job and became silent partner in computer business. 2000-went on another Caribbean cruise, and to LA, CA for fun. 2001-Went to St. Martin in the Caribbean-wonderful place! half Dutch/half French! 2003-Went to Puerto Rico during the San Sebastian Festival (What a party!) 2004-went to Florida 2006-Finally finished our project house (see 1995) and celebrated by taking 2 trips out west. One of them getting our kicks along historic Route 66, and the other to the Colorado/Utah/Arizona/New Mexico 4-corners region to get lots of stamps for our National Park Passport. 2007-Celebrated our 25th anniversary, Karen's sister's 20th, and her parents' 50th on a cruise in Hawaii! Tree-top zip-lining is the greatest! In June we went on another raft trip through the Grand Canyon-EVERBODY needs to do that sometime in their life! And on September 28, 2007 I RETIRED! Been travleing ever since. California, Vegas twice, Germany, Belize, Mexico twice, Florida, Canada, New York, DC, and when we weren't travelling, we were "Camp" counselors at Culver Military Academy for several weeks during the summers.
