Aaron's Story
Life
i played in a few bands around the country (singer, then bassist, then keyboardist), toured, have been on the radio in various parts of the globe, still make small amounts of money selling CDs & off royalties. yay! Unfortunately, i quit being a freak when i met my wife & playing music was fun but it didn't pay the bills. Now (in addition to a separate business we run), i run a teeny tiny record label & do art jobs for people.
after meeting my wife, we quit our jobs & formed a business. after returning from Taiwan, we bought a house in Payette (yeah, back to Idaho), and we now have two kids and work from home. (this all took place within 12 months)
in my spare time, i still do local-history research, i still record with my band, and i've started a small indie label.
i'm quite happy with my life, and i still rule. :)
School
i will never cease to learn.
College
I went to BSU for a couple years, Majored in Music Theory/Composition ... spent all my time learning (it was a weird feeling actually being able to learn after the sleep-inducing pace of HS.). Instead of partying (that came much later), I spent most of my time in theology classes, literature classes & studying sideshows and strange medicine ...
In Washington i studied Chinese for awhile. At the moment (2008-on...Expand for more
), i am a full time student again ... this time i'm doing a lot with theater & finishing up some loose ends ...
Workplace
my first job after HS was delivering pizza. eventually i was an assistant manager at the store, but i went on vacation to CT and forgot to come back ...
in CT i was a digital artist for a textile company & i had a PT job as a photographer working for one of the largest antiques dealers in the eastern U.S. i also played bass in a goth band while there. it was pretty fun, but friends in Seattle talked me into taking a bus out there to form a synth-pop band ...
in Seattle i got a job working for Ticketmaster ... i eventually got into the Telco dept and programmed IVR systems and was sometimes the voice you'd hear when you'd call to buy tickets. When they moved our office to TX (ugh), i worked for a short time as an auditor and then as a salesperson in a health food store before getting a job as a tech at a cellphone company. That was actually going pretty well, but my wife and i formed a more successful business, so we quit out jobs and moved back to Idaho. (so yeah, i should have stayed in college or something. let that be a lesson kids! STAY IN SCHOOL) ...
oh yeah! i like hearing from people. look me up ("arn poe") on social networking sites, google, whatever.
