Aaron's Story

Check out keenanbros dot com to learn more about me! I hope that have been an inspiration to my many friends and people whom I have met thoughout the course of my lifetime. I always wanted to be an animator when I grew up. My dream job has always been to work in an animation studio like PIXAR or Dreamworks. My family and friends believe that I could do that sort of thing. I just need the right direction. I blow off steam by playing the keyboard and by doing art related things like digital art, drawing, and other computerized or electronic activities. The wildest thing I ever did in school was probably the time that I ate a dog biscuit on a dare. On the way to school one day, me and two other guys were put up on a dare to eat a dog bisciut, or, eat a handful of bumble bees, or, drink a can of hockers, for a couple dollars. I instantly accepted the dare to eat the dog biscuit. The other two guys also took the other two remaining dares. I collected my two bucks. But, I was left with the nickname, "Biscuit" for the rest of my highschool years and a even for several years after that. Some of my inspirations are: Charles Schultz the creator of Charlie Brown and The Peanuts Gang, and also, Jim Davis the creator of the comic book character, Garfield. In the music world I have been inspired by many different people: Chip Davis of Mannheim Steamroller, Danny Elfman composer for a lot of Tim Burton's films, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Rush, The Beatles, Journey, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and many others. I have lived in the Connersville area all my life. I lived in Cambridge City for about 3 or 4 years. I also lived in an apartment above Huffy's Place in downtown Connersville. That building does not exist now since it was destroyed by fire. I'd like to see my uncle Mark again as well as my cousin, Little Mark. I remember them from when I was just a little kid, just before they moved off to California. I've always hope they are doing ok out there. On TV I like to watch educational and reality programs, also I like to watch the classic cartoon shows that I grew up with like Charlie Brown, The Pink Panther, and Garfield. I really thought that I would have found my place in the world by now, making a living doing the things that I enjoy, the things that come natural to me, my art and my music. Instead, I'm still forced to work jobs that will keep me pretty much an unknown, having no future. I'd like to live in a futuristic house, where I could display lots of artwork, crank my music up, and have it be free of dust for all of my electronic gadgetry. I do not have any kids that I am aware of that I can share any stories of how I feel about being a parent. I did spend a great deal of time watching my brother's daughter for the first three and a half years of her life. A lot of people thought that she was my kid. I am 37 years old as of typing this story. Today's date is, Monday, November 17th, 2008. I was born on September 23rd, 1971. Amazingly, my 1st Grade teacher, Mrs. Johnson is still alive and well. I have had the pleasure of seeing her and saying hello to her at the local McDonalds on several occasions recently. She says that I have grown up to be a fine young man. That was something good to hear from my 1st grade teacher. Thanks Mrs. Johnson! If I won $100 million dollars I'd give a big portion of it to my family members in need, then spend the rest on a nice place to live, a decent car, music and art related stuff, and electronics. At this point in my life, I have never been to college. It costs so much money to go and I don't know what steps to take to get myself in. I'm not even sure what classes I would want to sign up for. I find true happiness mostly while spending time alone, with my music, my art, and my thoughts. My best friends might tell you that I am some kind of a rocket scientist, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a ...Expand for more
hippie or some kind of a druggie, based on the fact that I like to wear my hair at longer lengths than what is considered to be "acceptable" for boys or men. Some people still have the idea that all longhaired guys are rebellious no good potheads. I'm not into following trends or whatever happens to be the latest fashion. My style of dress pretty much stays the same: everyday attire, jeans, t-shirts, sweaters, casual wear, just whatever happens to be at the top of the clothes pile. I was employed as a paperboy for the Connersville News Examiner from February 2004 to February 2005. I had a huge route out at Hanson Meadows. I got everyone's paper right up to their doorstep each and every day throughout the best and worst of weather. It was one of the hardest, lowest paying jobs that I have ever had. But, I gained a lot of people's respect that year! I am currently living at home with my mom. I have my own little room that we like to call "The Rec Room". I am surrounded with all my music and art related stuff. It's really the best of times to be here in my own little world. I can't get enough of it. I wish I that I could have more time to do the things that I enjoy. There are some awards that I have won that are still on display on a plaque in a trophy case at Maplewood School. This was from where I was recognized for my art talents as a grade school kid there. If I could get one do-over to do something different in my life I would try a lot harder to make my mark in the world. I'd like to find the courage and the cash to make my dreams as an aspiring artist and musician become even more recognized than what they already are. I'm not looking to hit the big time or anything like that. I'd just like to make a comfortable living doing the things that come natural to me, meanwhile building my fan base along the way. In ten years I hope that I will be living someplace warmer than Indiana and that I will be able to make the comfortable living as an artist and musician that I have always dreamed about. I just have to find the courage and the cash to make it happen. I need to hold on tight and never lose sight of the dream. April Clark, now Gabbard (her married name) has been a best friend of mine for a very long time. I met her at J and J Packaging in Brookville, Indiana. I believe that she would do just about anything for me. She calls me her "soulbud". We like to go out on occasion to sing karaoke, watch a band, go shopping, go out to eat, or just hang out. I think we have a relationship that is very uncommon. I have known her long before she met the man who is now her husband. She let him know early on that no matter what he or anyone else thinks, that Aaron will always be a part of her life. Larry, being the very laid back and understanding guy that he is, has never got in her way about it. He permits her to spend some quality time with me to go out for some dinner and lively dancing. We've had a lot of good times together. The only things that I could think of that might surprise anyone about me at my high school reunion is the fact that I have long hair, that I am single, that I don't have any kids, that I have never been arrested, and that I might be playing music as an entertainer for the event. My first job was at McDonalds Restaurant in Connersville where I got paid $3.85 an hour to work as a grill man. What I remember most about the job is the many different friends that I met and made while I worked there. I hope they are all doing alright for themselves out there in the world. Going sledriding down Lincoln Manor hill on Lincoln Ave with my brother Vincent and I looking at the lights of downtown Connersville, hearing the bells at Saint Gabriels Church tolling in the cool winter night, sparkling snow all around us, walking past houses lit with christmas lights, on our way home to warm up with some hot chocolate and chapped legs, those are some childhood memories that I will never forget.
