Aaron's Story

Life Hello to those I haven't seen in a while! Life has been great! Tiffany and I married in 1989 and since then we have created four beautiful kids. Family is important to us. I would rather spend the day with my family than do anything else. Our kids are the best (I know...we all say that about our own...but I'm serious!) Joshua is now 15, Lauren 13, LiliAnn 10, and Jacob 6. IT'S FUN BEING A DADDY! Tiffany has been a "stay-at-home" mom since Joshua was born and a terrific mom she is. For those who remember us, stay in touch through one of the following sites: familylifewv . org myspace . com/pastor_athomas twitter . com/pastor_aaron facebook . com/aaron.thomas89 (revised 5/10) School I attended Teays Valley Christian School from 1982 to 1988 (7th through 12th grades). School was fun! We had a small class so we were very close. For that matter, we had a small school so everyone knew each other. I fell in love with a hot redhead my senior year! She ruined me! I knew I would never forget her, so I married her in 1989. We started off being best friends and still are 20 years later. Teachers...what can I say? Mr. Davis (he got in trouble for letting us call him Jack...now he's the principle at TVCS). Mr. Doss, Mr. Schwertner, Mr. Young, Pastor Rod, Pastor Dave, Miss. Brown, Mrs. Reaser, Mrs. Kingery...there were others, but these are the ones we had the longest. ll!!! And I have to mention some who were there through the years but left before '88...Shane, Delana, Johnny... Go Lions! (revised 3/07) College Okay, so everyone thought I would be a police officer. So did I! I spent about 6 years getting my 2 year criminal justice degree...took classes here and there while working full-time. So, I graduated West Virginia State University in 1996 with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. But, go to the workplace page to see what happened... (revised 3/07) Workplace I currently have two careers: I have been a professional firefighter with the Charleston Fire Department since 1997. I am an EMT and was promoted to lieutenant in 2006. I love my job! It is a fulfilling career...and with the "on 24, off 48" work schedule, it allows me to be involved with my other career... I became the Assistant Youth Pastor at Maranatha Fellowship Church (MFC) in 2000 after a few years as a volunteer. I worked with the youth ministry for about 5 years. I was ordained on September 11, 2005 (a significant date for a firefighter) and am now the Young Adult Pastor at MFC. Tiffany and I pastor young adults 18 to 39 years old. We oversee a college ministry, a 20's & 30's singles group, and a 20's & 30's married couples group. Update: Tiffany and I moved our family to Enterprise WV to become the Associate Pastors of Family Life Fellowship. Our first official service on staff was Easter Sunday 2009. We serve under an incredible pastor and serve a great congregation of people. (revised 5/10)
