Adam's Story
Life
herein lies the rub.....trying to fit a "life bio" into a box of text. this should be fun..
i was born, raised, and, unfortunately, am still living in sparta, illinois.
after that, i pursued a liberal arts degree, double-majoring in Music Open Studies (focusing on classical piano and music theory) and Philosophy.
now i'm back at home, journeying through the proverbial, mythological "real world" which, in all actuality, existed at the time of my birth but which people seem to think only begins after college. it would seem people who don't go to, and subsequently don't get out of, college have no "real world" to deal with, but i digress.
i've played guitar for quite awhile, which is probably what people from high school will remember me for, but now i'm into classical piano, thanks to a college music major. i enjoy it so much more. i don't do as much reading as i should, but when i do it's usually something philosophical, religious, insightful, scientific, educational, etc. i'm not outgoing, i'm laid back, which is more than obvious to anyone that knows me. i don't really have hobbies, save for practicing piano on a daily basis. Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Chopin. that kind of stuff. my favorite philosophers include Socrates, Rene Descartes, and possibly the very little of Kierkegaard which i've read. he just seemed like a cool dude. anyway. i'm running out of things to say.
i just tried to post a bio that immediately got "removed from public view".......it was because i put: my first name; last name; the "at" sign; ice is cold whereas fire is _ _ _; you go to the post office to send some _ _ _ _; dot; and the first three letters of the word "company". so if you need to get ahold of me, there you go. i don't think their software will catch that, but if it's removed because someone's actually reading it, then i'll just have to give up lol. anyway, now we can catch up on old times if need be. when my bio gets removed after putting all that, i'll reali...Expand for more
ze i'm not as sneaky as i think i am.
this bio is lame.....if you know me, there's really no point in reading it; if you don't know me, you're just being nosey.
College
i've spent five years of my life in college to be a music and philosophy major. no, i don't know "what i'm going to do with it".
college taught me:
patience
the pros and cons of various living quarters
three consecutive days of eating only microwaved popcorn and ramen noodles will bring physical feelings of malnutrition
having a roommate(s) is something else
having neighbors is even more something else
there's many interesting people out there waiting to be met
there's many weirdos out there waiting to be met
it's possible to eat nachos at least once everyday for a month straight until it gets old
i get burnt out on french fries/tator tots after a week or two straight
when you live far from campus and the bus routes are closed for the night, walking a good couple of miles isn't really that big of a deal after a few times
college people now are cooler than high school people then
college people now are cooler than former high school classmates now
while being in college, it's worth more in the long run to have observed "the system" than to have mindlessly been nothing more than a part of it
college is full of "activists"....not all of them good, not all of them bad, not all of them harmful, not all of them effective
the only things i miss about the dining halls are: the sandwich deli, the bagel toasters, grape juice everyday, and the ice cream machines
the only things i miss about the dorms are: not much of anything
apartments have bad air and usually bugs
trailors have better air but more bugs
dorms just have bad air, no bugs, but drunken people to compensate
a dorm RA can either be the biggest dork ever (freshman year) or the coolest dude ever (sophomore year)
college core curricular classes are high school classes "part two" except usually much easier and more boring
