More about Adrian:"“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13, 14 NIV). My name is Adrian a.k.a. “AGE”. I grew up in SoCal, went to Bible College at NBC (Nazarene Bible College) in Colorado Springs, soon to be married to Rae Gumbert and together will be serving as the Youth Pastor of Longview First Church of the Nazarene in Texas. My life has been a major transformation since I encountered Christ. I have and continue to do my best to Love the Lord my God with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind and with all my strength and to Love my neighbor as myself (ref. Mark 12:30,31). I have learned that Love involves a lot of Sacrifice from us if it’s going to be genuine. Romans 12:1 “1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.” Throughout my Journey with Christ I found that there are 3 transformational necessities that must be pursued daily if we are to mature. God's Word- “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105 I do not care what controversies accompany this gift to us. The bible is our greatest resource in the pursuing of a genuine Faith and Hope. Without Gods word we are trapped in a subjective understanding of God and certainly will not be transformed or even see his world changed for that matter. Be passionate about the cover, ink and pages that are full of Gods Love and allow those words to be written on your heart. always have reverence for the saints before you who have made clear the truths of God no matter their denominational/ theological imperfection, just learn from it however that may within the effort of context. Prayer- “ pray continually” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 It is not an act equivalent to clocking in at work. You don’t wake up in the morning pray a quick prayer and go about your days waiting the need for a one way dialogue with God. God is a best friend, counselor and father figure that is beside you throughout your every moment wanting to be in every discussion and thought. Pray without ceasing ev...Expand for more
en when your mad. Your not going to hurt his feelings. Worship- “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert,” Psalm 95:6–8 Not to be confused with simple music appreciation. A great worshipper will care more about the elevation of praise to the one and only God that is worthy of it. Guitar, quartet, drums, organ, hymnal or not we do not want to be found guilty by our own association with how we prefer to worship before we are humbled by a pure heart of praise. The Psalms were progressive honoring words of old in the Old Testemant and is still welcomed by God today. Tradition and Progress must collide because worship isn't a genre amidst the trendy Christian community but a multi-generational effort to Glorify Christ. I have found that these necessities come with an endless amount of discipline. This discipline helps to secure a lifetime of continual growth and development for those who seek to please God. On a final note it is a conviction for me that we must have an undying effort to believe in all we encounter. No matter their sin, great or small. They are to be reconciled back to Christ. “11 Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience. 12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart. 13 If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:11–21 Go in Love, being Loved and Loving others!".
