Adrienne's Story

Life Since graduation from West Philly, I earned a BS in Education from Cheyney, and a MEd from Antioch. I taught school for 37 years, and retired in June 2008. I'm married to Talmadge Owens, Jr., and have one daughter, two step-sons and eight grandchildren. We moved from Philly to a suburb of Columbus, Ohio in 1994. I love to travel and do so as often as I can. Our children are in Michigan, Nebraska and Kansas...Expand for more
, but much of our family is still in the tri-state area near Philly. I come home at least once a year and try to stay connected with friends from West Philly and Cheyney. I've been to every reunion for my classes from both schools. I stay busy with church and community work, and now that I'm retired, I can spend more time with family and friends, and at my various avocations. I love hearing from former schoolmates.

Happy Heavenly Mother's Day to our Mom.She was a selfless provider, and a powerful role model. She lovingly shaped the women we became in so many ways. She also "mothered" and "grandmothered" many others. She was a force!

Well........
It's been a crazy, busy day, but I couldn't let the day pass without acknowledging my mother's birthday. She left us on July 9, 2016. Today would have been 101. We were blessed to have her as long as we did. Happy Heavenly
My Granddog Max was 14 years old. He was a loving companion. He's been in failing health for a while, but he's now at peace. Going to miss you Maxy-Waxy! 😢❤
