Ailien's Story
I'm happily living retirement life in North Scottsdale with my husband David and pursing my passion of genealogy. I've been doing genealogy since I was 10 our family inherited a box of family photos, letters, and diaries (going back to the 1800s).
When I started doing genealogy it was done the "old fashioned" way with typewriter and postal mail. Now, most (but not all) records are available online making it much easier. I have several direct ancestors who fought in the American Revolution so in 2019 I became a member of the Black Mountain Foothills Chapter of the National Society of the Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR). Since graduating from TL I was an administrative professional with my last gig working at Guide Dogs for the Blind as Executive Assistant to the CEO from July 1999 to July 2015.
In 2009 my dad passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. Sadly my mom also suffered from this awful disease and on July 2, 2015 I retired to take care of her. In February 2016 we moved my mom to Santa Fe, New Mexico where my sister Rebeca lived and she took over the care of my mom. Sadly, we lost my mom in 2017.
In June 2016 we sold our house in Novato and moved to North Scottsdale, Arizona July 31. We love our new home in the desert and our new adopted city!
