Al's Story
Here it is in a nutshell:
After many years from jr high school until I was 29 years old, I lived the life. Party central; I didn't know whether I was coming or going. My family life was good growing up; loved growing up in San Diego and still loved it there even though I've since moved on; never would I dream of changing anything. In 1989 and separated from my wife of 4 years; I knew I had to change; been there? I didn't know what real love was and I struggled inside because I tried to find love in many different ways. In September of 89 my wife and I got back together but I still hadn't changed; I was still doing the same things, living the same partying ways as I did back in the day. I spent the next 3 months or so trying to get cleaned up; I knew I had to get off all of the stuff that I had been on. In Dec of 89 everything changed. I gave my life to Jesus Christ and I was instantly healed from all of the withdraws and affects of the drugs that I had taken; never even craved them again. Needless t...Expand for more
o say since that day my marriage has been great, my two children are both serving the Lord and He is using me to teach others. Do I deserve to be where I'm at? No way? Do I deserve to be forgiven for ALL that I had done in the past, the way I treated others, the way I treated my wife? No way; I deserve to be judged. But that is why the grace of God is so incredible. I found true love in my Savior who died on the cross for me. His Word tell us that "even while we were still sinner Christ died for us". How incredible is that? Check this out, if that didn;t blow your mind; I get to teach other about the grace of God as senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel in Longview, Washington. This is a church that I pioneered about six years ago in a town that needs His grace just like I needed and still need it today. May the Lord Jesus Christ be everything to you that He desires to be. We all need Him, we all have sined, we have all fallen short, but His grace is sufficient...
