Alan Gross:  

Life I was born in Brooklyn and reared in Burbank, where my mother still lives in the same house she and my father bought in 1960. I went to Pomona College, then Princeton University in New Jersey. My father died in 1973. I have lived in New Jersey since 1971. I worked for Bell Labs and its successors, Bellcore and Telcordia. In early 2003 Telcordia decided they couldn't afford my services, and so I "retired".
