Alan's Story
Life
We lived in various places in Idaho and Montana. I attended grade school in Wallace, Idaho and Libby, Montana. We moved to Missoula after my sophomore year at Libby High School.
I graduated from Missoula County (Sentinel) High School.
After high school graduation, I worked summers for the National Park Service in Yellowstone, the US Forest Service in Missoula and McCall, Idaho, and for Phillips Petroleum at the National Reactor Testing Station, while I attended Michigan State University. I graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I worked for a defense contractor, Radiation, Inc. in Florida for 3 years, then moved to the south San Francisco Bay area, now known as Silicon Valley. y providing computer systems that operate telecommunications networks worldwide. I retired from the computer industry in 2002, and moved from Silicon Valley to the Willamette Valley in Oregon in 2005.
Hobbies include travel and flying hot air balloons. I now operate a hot air balloon repair station under the authority of the FAA. Lindan Hot Air Service Center is the only FAA balloon repair station in Oregon.
We have one small dog, an indoor cat, and an outdoor cat.
We have children in California, Oregon, and Washington, grandchildren in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington, and 3 great-grandsons in Oregon, 3 great-granddaughters in North Carolina, as well as other family in Nevada, Colorado, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Florida.
We now live in Albany, Oregon.
