Alanna's Story
Life
Well, I live in Las Vegas with my boyfriend Joe. We've been together for 9 years this October. Marriage, you say?? What for?? I lead a pretty simple life, which is the opposite of my younger days. Those that new me way back when know what I mean... But I am very content with my life now. During my free time Joe and I take our quads out (when it's not too hot). Usually go to Dumont since it's about an hour away from us. I love the beach and am a sunshine girl. I lived in Oregon for about 7 years. Too much damn rain!!! Had to get out of there and back to my sunshine. :) Anything more you want to know just send me an email. I'd love to talk to old friends again so if you find me drop me a line. If I find you first, I'll drop you a line.
School
School... What can I say about school? Well, for starters, if I could do highschool over again, I would. No need to go into too much detail. Just that I ended up getting my GED in Eugene, Oregon at the community college.
College
No roommates, no cafeteria cuisine, just a vending machine and a whole lot of hard work. I went to Concorde Career Institute in Portland, Oregon. It's a trade school for healthcare & dental. I went for Medical Insurance Coding & Billing. It...Expand for more
was about a 9 month course. I passed with a 4.0. It was great. I really enjoyed it. Actually, I plan on going back to school to get a paralegal degree. I'll go to the community college here in Vegas, then maybe to UNLV. Depending how far I want to take my degree. What about the medical? I can use both medical and law in the same work place. Just depends on who I work for. Which, eventually will be myself.
Workplace
First job I ever had was helping my Grandparents at the swapmeet in Palm Desert at COD. Then my best friend got me a job with her at what was first Penguin's Frozen Yogurt then changed to Icebird's Frozen Yogurt. Those were the only jobs in the desert. I moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1996. I worked in retail for about a year, then started waiting tables. I worked at a few restaraunts in Oregon and in Vegas. Made good money but there was no way in hell I was waiting tables forever. So I went to school. After school we moved back to Vegas. I now work at a great doctor's office in Las Vegas. I've been here since I got out of school. So a little over 2 years. I work with great people and best of all I don't have to deal with patients. I just send them the bill!!
