Albert's Story
Picture is of me in a Navy Gun Director used to aim the 12 mile guns with the Radar. Picture taken off the coast of Japan in 77.
Back in Shohola after being gone from 1975. Went off to play Sailor for 20 years, retired in San Diego as a E7 Fire Control Chief. Visited 27 countries and spent 10 years assigned to ships. 2 years in Yokosuka Japan 77-79, 4 years in Norfolk, VA 79-83, 4 years in San Diego, CA 87-91. Was a Electronics Instructor at Great Lakes, IL from 83-87, and a Mobile Technician going out and fixing Ships Radars and Computers when the Sailors on board could not fix it from San Diego 91-95.
Went to work for SONY in San Diego at the Picture Tube Plant in 95 and spent the first 2 years in production of 17 inch CRT's for Computer Monitors. I was the Senior Technician / Mechanic keeping the product flowing in my area of responsibility in the middle of a 12 hour assembly line. I worked on the Program Logic Controllers that worked the conveyors, Fanuc Robots, and Electronics required to make a picture tube. Took a promotion to a great job in a quiet air conditioned office in the Electronic Calibration Lab for the next 2 years.
Got divorced after 13 years...Expand for more
, no kids, and moved to Philly to work at the Bristol Sony Service Center.
Spent the next 4 years fixing Cameras, DVD's, Telephones, Play Station 1 and 2's and TIVO.
Was able to drive home often on weekends.
After my Mom passed away 5 years ago I moved back to Shohola to help my Step Father Jesse McKean. There I started my Business Pocono Digital Woodshop
I use Lasers, Color Sublimation, V Carving, Vinyl and a Wood Shop to make Tourist Products and Signs.
Just got a web site up and running in July 08.
Because the laser uses a exhaust fan to suck to laser smoke outside I couldn't use it in the house as it could back draft the heating. I ended up building 2 small buildings, one is the Laser Shop and the other is the Wood Shop. From there I have been slowly building my business.
Ran into some DV Guys at Walmart last April and they said.... "So your still doing the AV Thing....."
Yes, and LOVE IT...... Nothing like the fun of cutting Wood with a Laser.... or a Sears V Carve Machine...
I post at the CarveWright dot com Forum under Digitalwoodshop, posting my latest projects and my web site can be found under my business name and dot com.
Thanks for looking.
