Alberta's Story

Life Aaron and I have just celebrated 38 years of marriage. All our children are married: Tim (& Ragan), Jentry (& Amy), Sarah (& Sid) and Micah (& DeAnna). They live in Missouri, Arkansas and Wyoming. We now have 13 grandchildren: 7 girls and 6 boys and the oldest is 12. Aaron has been a Baptist preacher/pastor over 36 years and has pastored in Arkansas, Michigan, Florida, back to Missouri, Wyoming, Mississippi and now, in central Arkansas. Being a pastor's wife has brought me out of the 'painful' shyness that almost consumed me at times. Aaron has encouraged me and made me do things I never thought I could do! ful. There WERE times I wanted to escape--but not for long. "Empty nester" is a condition that we are finally experiencing and we've decided that we don't hate it! I love exploring and traveling with Aaron. He has always been the joy of my life. We love having 1 or all the grandkids visiting. Of course, we love having their parents too. They all enjoy being together so it can get a little hectic and noisy. I'm talking about the parents. The grandkids are good and play well together for the most part. I love just watching them as they play or roam through the house and yard. I especially love it when they, one at a time, just come to sit close for a little while or just for a quick hug. Grandparenting is cool!
