Alberto's Story

Well, what can I say, I went west and I am here to this day. I thought that I would grow old and die in Florida and never see snow. Well, I guess I got my wish granted. I joined the Army and left Florida in July of 87. I went to Ft. Dix New Jersey for basic training. Then I went to Ft. Belvoir, Va for my military specialty. It is located about 12 miles outside of D.C. so I got to do a lot of sightseeing. From there I went to the west coast. I was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington. I currently live in Puyallup which is located in the Seattle-Tacoma area. I have lived in New York and Nashville, Tennessee as well. I have done a lot of travelling to places such as South Korea, Alaska, California and Arizona to name a few. The Grand Canyon is an awesome sight. If you travel by car in the West make sure you got plenty of gas in your tank because the gas stations are few and far in between. I graduated from Bates Tech and NTCC College. I work for a construction company that is building the new Microsoft West Campus. I mostly hang out with my friends from college. I have only been to Florida once, back in 2004. The closest I got to Florida was when I...Expand for more
was in Ft. Benning Ga. for airborne (parachute) training. Florida has changed a lot! I would have gotten lost if it wasn't for my brother driving me around. I would like to hear from you, to know what your experiences were during Hurricane Andrew. I don't have my yearbooks anymore, in part due to Hurricane Andrew. I am going to try to remember your names (no easy task after 20+ years) but if I don't please remind me. I still remember vividly the trip to Walt Disney World for grad night. We stopped at a McDonald's in the middle of the Everglades and we all got off the bus and rushed the restaurant and overwhelmed it. Four busloads of people were packed inside that place. It was a pretty chaotic scene. We probably set an unofficial Guinness record for the most people inside a McDonald's. I like to study southern gospel music and play my bass guitar. I also like to experiment with the stock market, read personal combat experiences from the Vietnam War, books about selling, financial strategies, the Bible and books on Psychology. I will be posting pictures soon. P.S. More pictures are coming.
