Candace's Story
Life
After High school I joined the military and served 13 years and traveled the world,with one tour in Desert Storm I have Three girls of my own and two step sons one of which is 21 and deaf, who just came here to Washington to live with my husband and I. My husband is a career soldier with 25 years in the military and we are looking forward to retiring two more years and heading back east, as I miss the east coast. My oldest daughter will be a sophmore this year and boy how it makes me realize how times have changed. I have medically retired from my after service job with the VA and now am a stay at home mom, Which I throughly enjoy, and with Dad in the military and deploying all over the country quite often it is nice to have one of us home full time. ferred here to lovely Fort Lewis Washington and found a cute old house to rent that has a beautiful view of the Pudget Sound. The kids and I are enjoying a summer on the beach when it is not raining. Our town has a population of just over 6,ooo which is really nice to get back to a small size town. Our Family really enjoys outdoor activities and are very close knit so it is not uncommon to see my husband and I walking or bike riding around town in the evening with our clan, we both enjoy quite moments together which of course can be hard to find when you have children especially aging from 8-21 living with you. but we find time together. So right now I am mostly enjoying being retired and doing my part as the wife of a Sergeant Major with the Army and being a full time Mom.
