Alfred's Story
Freshman year was at Andrew P Hill in San Jose. Sophmore year at Mission High unitl June 63. Then Junior Year at Polytechnic from Sept 63 until June 63.. Parent moved a lot durning my High School years. Joined the Navy Nov 23 1963. Boot camp in San Diego, then to Boston, MA, as a member of the crew aboard the USS Richhard E. Kraus in Jan 1964 and got my GED. Got transferred to the USS Long Beach in Norfork VA in 1966. Sailed to the West Coast via the Panamal Canal then to the West Pack Cruise during the Viet Nam War. Left the USS Long Beach and Navy on Jan 1967. Joined the Army in June 1968. Boot Camp and AIT at Fort Lewis, Washington. Then was stationed in Korea (2nd Inf. Division, 68-69). Discharged at Oakland Army Depot in 1970. Navy Reserve 71-72 and made 3rd Class Yeoman at the Coastal River Div on Mare Island. Started Jr. College 9/72-6/74 Started working for GEICO after getting my AA at Skyline College- (does anyone know of Billy Keach from Skyline College). The Geico Ins.Company had finance problems and closed it regional office in SF. I was on the 38th floor in personal lines underwriting. Then in 76 I registered at CSUH. in 79', to get married which lasted until 2003.
Joined the Army Reserve in 1989 to get have a military retirement. Last place to be stationed was at the 91st Training Div in Camp Parks. While at Camp Parks, Dublin, CA, I was with 1st Bigrade for most of the time and then was transferred to 319 Signal Batt. at the bottom of the hill from Bigade HQ. Dates are difficult to remember now. If you remember me let me know.
Conerning what I did while I was in the Army Reserves, I was working for Svenhard's Swedish Bakery. The Lord would only know why I chose to stay with Svenhards Bakery. I figure if you have something nice to say about someone, then- say it. If you don't then don't say anything. So I won't say anything bad about Svenhard's Bakery.
After retiring from Army Reserves,and Svenhand's Bakery. All of this and getting divorced too in 2003, I went to live around my immediate family in Georgia. I then had decided with all the negative things in my life to be better and not bitter, so I sought to attain my BA which I had always wanted to have. This I have achieved and life is good. I may add onto this Q&A section as things in life is always being added onto.
