Alfred's Story
I graduated from West Milwaukee High School. I attended The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for 1 year (ran out of money) and joined the Air Force. I served for four years and then worked for Allen Bradley in Milwaukee briefly. I then moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida and worked for RCA for eight years on the Eastern Test Range. I worked on tracking ships traveling and supporting missions from the Cape on four oceans. I met my wife in Portland, Oregon in 1972 while my ship was in Portland for repairs. . I worked my way from Technician to Systems Engineer and retired in June of 2006. I returned to work in October 2006 and retired for the second time in June of 2007 after almost 35 years. I have two children, A son Shane who received his PHD in Physics from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburg and now works for Raython Corporation in Garland, Texas as a science engineer. My daughter Jill graduated form the University of Florida and is presently working on her masters degree at the University of Washington. She resides in Mosulla, Montana. My wife and I reside in Melbourne, Florida and spend summers in Salem, Oregon.
