eson and had 2 beautiful daughters, Wendy & Lori. We were married for 7 years and divorced. Then I married Bev Smith; we were married for 17 years. I left Andalusia and moved to the University of Alabama to pursue a Ph.D in English. Almost finished but didn't. Met a chemist who had never married, Bill Battle. We have now been together for over 12 years and live in Huntsville. I no longer teach, but I sell real estate in the Huntsville/Madison County area. I've been doing this since I've lived here, and I really love it. Wendy and her family live just 3 miles away. Lori and her husband live on a large farm in Bibb County, so I get to see both my girls often. I still think Covington County, Alabama, is God's country, and I go as often as I can and ride dirt roads and reminisce. Life is good.".
