Alice's Story
Life
I got married after three years of college, and my husband and I have so far lived in CO, the Netherlands, and now GA. I've been working for Macy's since November of 2004, and I'm reconsidering all my options for the future. Things didn't turn out quite like I'd expected, but life is good!
College
I attended UNC-Asheville for about three years, majoring in history. I still don't know what I would have done had I gotten my degree, but severe depression caught up with me and ruined any plans I might have had at the time. has drastically improved. Who knows? Maybe I'll still go back to school some day.
Workplace
Until last November I hadn't worked since my first year in college. The same depression that forced me to cease my studies also prevented me from getting a job for about six years. I now work at Macy's, and for the most part, I really enjoy it.
Military
I wasn't in the military myself, but my husband was. He spent five years in the army, and we live in Colorado and the Netherlands. Fortunately, he never had to go to a war zone, and our three years at a NATO post in Europe were very interesting.
