Allan's Story
After high school, I attended The Ohio State University, graduating in 1985. I was commissioned in the Navy, and went through flight training in Pensacola, Florida. I moved to Virginia in 1986 for advanced training, and served in the fleet as an A-6 Intruder Bombardier/Navigator until late 1990. From 1990 to 1993 I was in graduate school in Monterey California, then returned to the East Coast to serve as the Assistant Strike Operations Officer in USS Enterprise. uty in 1996, I began working for SAIC as an atmospheric scientist at the NASA Langley Research Center while continuing to serve in the Navy Reserve. In 2005 I was mobilized for Operation Enduring Freedom, deploying to Sudan as part of Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa. Since returning from deployment, I have been again serving on active duty on the staff of Commander, U.S. Second Fleet. My wife Jacqueline and I were married in 1988, and we live in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
