Allisa's Story
Life
After graduation, I went to Wayne State University to get a B.A. in Education with certifications in Special Education (cognitive impairments) and Elementary Education. I subbed at a school for 3 years, before teaching adult students with severe multiple impairments (now going into my 4th year); this year I was reassigned to a classroom with teenagers with severe cognitive impairments. At work, I am on the technology and curriculum committees, as well as the State Curriculum Subcommittee, where we are taking all the state special education curriculum and aligning it with the state general education curriculu...Expand for more

I am now in grad school to get a Master's in Educational Administration; I will be finished in May of '08.
I bought a house in Madison Heights, MI, and live there with my mother.
I am very active in church as a Sunday School teacher (3-5th graders) and pianist. I also sing on the pre-worship team and in choir.
I enjoy traveling, visiting friends and family, reading, listening to music, and shopping. I am a beginning to crochet, sew, and garden.
I have one sister who is married, owns her own business, and lives in Virginia; one brother who is a tax lawyer in Chicago; and one dog-niece.
