Allison's Story
Life
Tom & I are still happily married after 25 years. Our son, Chris, is 23, graduated from SLO High, attends Cuesta and works full time at Costco. He lives with his very sweet girlfriend Aly in a cute apt in SLO along with several fish and a cat. Our daughter, Andi, is almost 19, graduated from SLO High, where she was a Varsity Cheerleader and involved in Drama. She attends Cuesta full-time and works at Victoria's Secret part-time. Right after graduation she moved out with her boyfriend, making Tom and I empty nesters. But it didn't work out and so she is back at home. We've lived in SLO for about 22 years. Tom has worked for Prudential for 24 years now, currently as a Financial Planner. I had a daycare in our home for 14 years, but I closed it in 2001 to return to school. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but I believe it will be teaching a...Expand for more
dults how to teach children. In the meantime, I work at Cal Poly as a Preschool Teacher at the Children's Center. I am also attending Poly, working on finishing my BA. Tom completed his BA in Finance at Regis University and is now in their MBA Program. When we're not doing homework we enjoy camping, riding our Sea-Doo's, traveling and spending some weekends at our timeshare in Avila Beach. Send Tom and me an email and catch-up!
Workplace
After having a daycare in my home for 14 years, I was lucky enough to take 14 months off. I returned to school, and also took a breather from working with young children. In September 2002, I joined the teaching staff at the Cal Poly's Children's Center. I am thrilled to be working there, as it is probably the most prestigious childcare facility in San Luis Obispo. Currently, I work with toddlers, and I absolutely love it!
