Allison's Story
Life
After graduation...I met my first husband in 1983. We married, had a child and divorced soon there after. I and my child moved to CA and lived there for 4 years. That was a wild time!!!! We moved back to Blytheville for a short and I mean, very short time. At which time in 1990, we moved to North Carolina. That's when my life turned for the better. A co-worker began speaking to me of this guy named Jesus and all the wonderful things He'd done. This same co-worker began taking my child to church with her and her husband. She was having so much fun, I had to check it out for myself. In 1992 - January 14th to be exact - I gave my life to the Lord. Things have never been the same. I wish I could say things were perfect from then on out; but that's not the case..you see - Christians are still human and try to do things in their own power; we usually end up failing miserably and making a big mess out of things (it goes so much smoother when He is allowed to...Expand for more
be in control). Following Christ is not always easy, but it's ALWAYS right. In 1993, I met a man and we started dating exclusively. In June of 1995, not only did a union between a man and woman happen, but also a child was a part of that union. He adopted her as his own in 1997, giving her his name and thus completing the family. This journey has been exciting so far and it's not over yet. You see, our daughter was married in 2005 and is expecting their first child in May 2006. A new phase of our lives is just beginning.....grandparents! Aaaaahhhh, a chance to do things a little different .... a chance to slow down; have fun and not worry if the clothes get dirty........
We became first time grandparents on May 22, 2006 at 12:16 am after 24 hours of labor (mom did it right, however, and had epiderals). A beautiful, healthy baby boy was born weighing in at 7lbs .5 oz - 21 inches long! A full head of dark brown hair, blue eyes.
