Alverna Lee's Story
I have lived in the Corpus Christi, Tx. area since 1981. In May 2006 we sold our home in CC and moved on a private air strip on Lake Corpus Christi, about 60 miles from CC. I still work 1-2 days a week in CC at an out-pt. surgical center as a Recovery Room nurse. My mother lives in CC and will be 91 in March. James and I will be married 26 years on Feb.14, 2011. We travel north in the summer to get out of the heat, but love being in south Texas in the winter. I have 1 son and 1 daughter. The son is a Lt. Col. and green beret in the Army Special Forces. lives in Augusta, Ga. We have a small dog named Chica (little girl in Spanish) and she loves traveling. She has been in 34 states and 3 Canadian provinces. I look forward to keeping up with classmates from Rolla.
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
I love to read and swim if the pool water is warm enough.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is James Mayberry, because he was my first crush..
In 10 years, I hope to be breathing. I'm going to get there by using oxygen. HA!!.
