Amanda's Story
Life
its a lovely life, filled with work, studio, travel, friends and a stubborn doberman with pink toenails.
after high school i went to rhode island, where i studied at risd and filled my spare time with classes at brown. after graduating, i moved to boston and worked in the city for a while at a design firm while deciding what i wanted to do next.
surprisingly, i ended up back in phoenix while contemplating a move to sf, and realized that phoenix had become quite lovely while id been away, found a house, started an ad agency, got a dog.
i now run a small but bustling boutique ad and pr agency with 4 amazing employees where we rep mostly local SBO's and national NPO's out of an office near the Biltmore where I live. I have a great bunch of clients that i adore. i work enti...Expand for more
rely too much and love every second of it.
I still volunteer a great deal, mostly with HIV agencies and the Red Cross.
I love to travel, and spend a month in Europe each year where i actually get to utilize the endless years of french i took. i spend the summer at the cape, back east, escaping the heat. i love nothing better than a grand adventure- bicycling from Canada to Boston, negotiating trains through Europe speaking only italian, spending a month in Mississippi doing rescue work.
i built a ceramics studio so i could continue my work in my off hours, which isn't many, but i do believe at some point i'll exhibit again or go for a MFA, mostly it just makes me happy.
happy with the general state of affairs in amanda-dom, although always happy to work, improve, attain.
