Amanda's Story
Life
I graduated from MTSU in August 2001 with a degree in Equine Science and Agricultural Education. I am eventually going to law school where I will become an agricultural lawyer. I now have my own farm in Hendersonville. I got married on July 4, 2002, and I still has not hit me that I am married. I teach agriculture at Station Camp High School which is on the Hendersonville and Gallatin City Lines, but I am staying at home currently because I have had some very serious knee problems and am temporarily disabled. I have lots of animals as I always have had and the list keeps growing now that I am teaching animal science and have a reason to have them.
School
I enjoyed school very much, and I do not know if it was because of what I was learning, or because of all of the great friends that I had. When I left high school, I really felt like I wanted to go back, for some odd reason which I still do not know. But, I guess that is what lead me to become ...Expand for more
a teacher, so that I can help others as I teachers did.
College
Party, Party, Study, Sleep, Sleep, you know the routine. But, I really do not remember studying at all. It was more fun to be the sober monitor, than to actually be enjoying the festivities of the party, since I have many very amusing stories to tell others now like the time that someone (not mentioning any names) decided that a holly bush was talking bad about his mother and he attacked it. Great memories, with very memorable people, that both effected my life greatly.
Workplace
I have owned my own business since 1991 when I was still in high school, and it has flourished into a major income producer. I love what I do, and I still desire to help others and that is why I also teach high school. I believe that I have a natural gift to take and teach and lead others, so teaching in the high schoo setting is an appropriate job to lead to other possible clients in the high school setting.
