Life Let's see after graduating high school I moved into Hilo... back to Pahoa... over to Oahu... Met a guy... moved to Ohio... did 6 month splits between Ohio & the Big Isle for the next 3 yrs finishing up my B.A. at UH-Hilo by attending Spring semesters in Hilo and doing field work in Southwestern Ohio at the Dayton Museum of Natural History, the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History and Sunwatch, a reconstructed Indian village outside of Dayton the rest of the year, not to mention working to pay those school bills. For the next 3 years after graduating I proceeded to do 9 months in Ohio and 1 month back in Hawaii and then travelled for the other 2 months of the year -- bouncing around the South Pacific, parts of South East Asia, and I spent one winter driving around the mainland -- 11,500 driving miles and an additional 10,000+ flight miles I was back in Cincinnati. I moved back to Oahu in 2000 and started on my MLIS at UH-Manoa in 2001, graduating in May 2003. Got rid of the guy and moved to Alabama where I was a librarian at Air University Library at Maxwell AFB. Stayed there a year and then it was off to Europe -- Aviano AB, Italy to be exact, to be the Reference Librarian. Spent just over 2 1/2 years there before moving to Izmir, Turkey to be the Library Director in August 2007. I worked my way through school in a variety of jobs mostly in the restaurant/bar industry, but also libraries, hotels, engineering, medical, & landscaping firms. I have no children and am enjoying the chance to explore Europe for as long as they let me.
