Amber's Story
Life
After high school I went to college for building construction and graduated in 1994.
I had my 1st son in 1995 . Started working at a cemetery running the Mausoleum and Crematorium. After getting married and having my second son in 1997, I became an stay at home mom. And later having my daughter in 1999.
I live in Troutdale and did daycare until I went insane!!HEHEHE!
I went back to working at a crematorium and did First Call for awhile.After a while I picked up a 3rd job working with the Developmentally Disabled, after working all 3 for awhile I quit the first 2, and stayed with the DD clients , I went on to be a Manager of a group home for 2 yrs. I left that job but still volunteer to take the clients out at least once a month. I went back into the cremato...Expand for more
ry business but left due to some unfavorable circumstances. I then went back to work part time as a Job Coach for people with MRDD. But now I am the In School Suspension teacher at a middle school. I absolutely love my job and my students. I think I have found my calling. Who knew I would be dealing with kids like me back in the day...LOL.
I have had to learn to slow down and enjoy life before it gets away from me.
Life has been bitter sweet but worth all the struggles. Never thought I would have children , yet alone 3! Or be married. Life throws us all sorts of loops, but it's how we hold on for the ride that proves who we are and how strong we can be.
I do still stay in touch with my Russian exchange students and have visited them too.
