Amy's Story
Life
2007 update
My senior year I met Mr. Right, Billy Keene- who happened to be my Church Guy from 10th grade- we got married in Oct 2002. I have my Associates from NOVA, Bachelors from George Mason and am working as a Business Analyst at the largest Credit Union in the world. Joey got married in 2002 also- he lives in Fredericksburg and is expecting a son in June. Seth is in the Marines and is stationed in California. Baby brother Josh is going to college Right now I am a pet parent to Nani and Stitch, my pug/poms. I own a condo in Stafford. I lost contact with many of friends after 96- so I'm always up to finding a lost friend
School
Well even though I technically graduated from North Stafford, my heart is at Quantico. Dr. Stewart was my inspiration throughout high school. Not only was she a great teacher but a friend who helped me through a lot- like my 10th grade year. Some of the best memories for me were 1- getting out of school early to go to games ie volleyball, cheerleading or softball 2- speaking gibrish and driving our teachers crazy b/c they couldn't understand us 3- Going down to Thompson Park to the candy store before volleyball practice 4- Being the QHS Homecoming Queen in 95 and crowning DJ, my high school crush, Homecoming King. Some embarrasing moments for me- breaking my ankle in front of the football team in 9th grade during the 1st volleyball practice 2- falling out of the desk in Ms. Huff's algebra class 3- Getting locked out of Mr. Muir's class b/c we were late from 10 minute break 4- walking up in front of the entire HS to get an award while wearing flowered panties under a beige outfit- NEVER DID THAT AGAIN!!!! Lessons learned 1- Never do anything that will cause your mother to sit in the school's lobby- she will be there for you after he isn't. 2- Friends should always come first 3- Live life now, b/c no matte...Expand for more
r how hard you pray for tomorrow to come, when tomorrow is today you'll wish for yesterday. Lessons from North Stafford- lets see- you might be a big fish in one pond- but you are a minnow in others and the people who you knew as minnows are now the big fish. It was all fun!!!
College
This is sweet and short. Started college in 98, graduated NOVA in 00 with my mom in my class. Started at GMU in summer of 00 and graduated in 01 with my Bachelors. I never got to join any groups except Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I worked full time at Manassas Dodge for 75% of my college life. Why did I graduate in 3 years. So I could marry Billy! I told my father when I got engaged in 97 that I wouldn't marry Billy until after I graduated from college, so thats it. Looking to go back for a teaching certificate or Masters soon.
Workplace
2007 Update- As of November 2006- I accomplished one of my goals and got a great promotion at NFCU, I am now a Business Analyst for Mortgage Products. Still a long drive, but enjoying the challenge!!!!
First job was Subway at the Exchange then the jewelry counter at the PX. After I moved to Stafford, I worked at McDonalds for 1.5 years where I became a manager. I started doing promotional work for an agency in 98 until I started college in the fall. I worked at a store in Potomac Mills for the Xmas season and then started Manassas Dodge as a cashier in March 99. I was promoted to Rental Manager and then Subaru Assistant before I graduated GMU. After graduating I wanted to explore other work options so I went p/t at the dealership as Systems Administrator. I took a job as an account manager at Fine Arts Engraving Company in June 2001 and left in February 2002. I returned full time to Manassas Dodge as the System Administrator and am now at NFCU. Doesn't sound like much but its been very educating and fun!
