Amy's Story
Life
Life experiences are invaluable. Thru the course of my life since 1968, I have learned so
many things and met hundreds of amazing people. To say that I am grateful would be
an understatement, but some of the most endearing people in my life today are the
wonderful friends I made in high school.
The older I become, the more I realize how blessed I was to have graduated when I did.
Our class was terrific, the teachers were special (for the most part!), and we really had
some fun times.
Currently I am employed as a nanny for an English/Irish family with two children. This is
both challenging and rewarding, especially now that the kids are learning French in
school...I didn't realize how much I have yet to learn! We have loads of fun and I am
teaching them both how to cook, crochet, weave, and paint. They take great delight
in learning how to do laundry as well, but moan and groan when it's time to put it away.
The whole family (including me) is thrilled with our Indianapolis Colts victory at the Super
Bowl. I must admit that I was torn by my old loyalty to the ...Expand for more
Chicago Bears, and took
a lot of grief from all of my Illinois family and friends. But I was charitable and didn't
call them to gloat after the game.
My husband and I purchased a 1984 27' RV in 2005 for our 25th wedding anniversary.
Learning how to function in it was a major challenge, but we now have the duties and
turf divided up and really enjoy our trips. The longest being a two-week drive around
Lake Michigan last year. We both arrived home alive and still speaking to each other,
so I say that was a successful vacation!
Last May, my oldest grandaughter presented me with my first great-grandchild. I
believe that babies are a gift from God no matter the circumstances of their arrival.
He has become the joy and delight of my daughter's family. They live in northwestern
Illinois which makes it very difficult for us to visit more than a few times per year, but
we keep in touch over the internet and phone.
Thanks for visiting with me. I am hoping to make it to the 2008 reunion if we have one.
May the Universe bless you with happiness, good health, and prosperity.
