Amy's Story
Life
I went right into college at ETSU and stayed there for a couple of years, but could never settle on a major so I decided to work instead. I ended up getting married in '95, but it didn't work out so we divorced in '99. I met my current husband in 2000 and we married in 2001. For those of you who remember Diana Poister (she moved away our sophomore year to Ohio), our husbands are brothers. I've had five beautiful children. My oldest, Colin, was born in January 2003. We had a little girl, Grace, in September 2005. She had Trisomy 18 and did not make it through labor. That was...Expand for more
the hardest thing I've ever been through, but I wouldn't change a thing. She was a beautiful blessing and a reminder of what a precious gift life is. Our second son, Jerryd, was born February 2007. We had two more surprise blessings, Gavin was born in 2013 and Maggie in 2018. I went back to college and in 2010 graduated from ETSU with my bachelors of science in Allied Health. I am an x-ray tech but currently am working at doctor’s office as a medical assistant. We lived in Panama City, Florida from 2013-2019, but moved back to the Tri-Cities a few months after Hurricane Michael hit.
