Amy's Story
Life
I live in North Carolina with my husband. We have no kids at the moment....However, we have a 3 year old nephew who is the absolute light of my life! He's the handsome guy next to me in my profile picture:) It's been an amazing experience watching him grow & develop over these past 3 years. I feel so blessed that I can be a part of his life. We moved up here to be closer to some of my family and to get away from our lifestyle in Bradenton. Although I miss my friends terribly, I have no intention of moving back. I never thought I would say that, but I mean it. It makes me sad to think of the things I am missing:( But, my friends are my friends..hopefully it always stays like that! Although I am not physically around, I think of them always. They are always in my thoughts and prayers.

d be. I honestly don't believe I would have survived had we stayed in Bradenton. I've been given a second chance at life and happiness. And I am grateful for every moment of it!
Workplace
In addition to going to school full-time, I work at a community college here in Sylva, NC. Last school year, 06-07, I started off as a work study in the admissions office. I did that for 2 semesters and loved working there. Then a part-time position opened up in the Financial Aid Office as administrative assistant. I was a little leary about switching departments, at first. I thought it would be a very technical and dry atmosphere, because it dealt with money. Boy, I was so wrong! I love it!! I work 25-30 hours a week, and right now it is the best fit for me. I am able to keep going to school, as well as work in an environment I adore. It's the best of both worlds!
