Life Alright, I guess whoever pays to read these wants their money's worth, so why not fill this out... I am currently living at 7000 ft on an active volcano on Maui, Hawaii. It's great to get to the beaches & it's much different from most of the mainland in lots of ways (Hawaiians are a culture & ethicity by themselves), but it is easy to get tired of being isolated on an island in the middle of the Pacific & the altitude (I work at 10,000 ft some days) wears on me. And I actually miss the humidity of the midwest!! I work for Haleakala National Park in the interpretation dept- which is basically researching & presenting educational programs (for instance, I'm currently working on a presentation about the beliefs & lives of ancient Hawaiians). Working in a National Park is beautiful- sunrise atop Haleakala is really uplifting. I finished up at Mizzou a couple years ago with BA degrees in psych, anthro, & a minor in women's studies. I plan to go back to school for my PhD, but I'm still trying to decide on a program- when I was working in DC on ...Expand for more
