Amy's Story
Life
After high school I got an assoc. deg. in Early Childhood Ed. After about 5 yrs I went back to school and became an occupational therapist. I am currently working for Rae Ann Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Westlake and love it. I especially like working with stroke patients. I got married to Tom Schmitt in 1988 and we are still very happy after 17 years. We have 3 kids: Kenny (a test tube baby!) who is 11, Allyson who is 9 and, surprise! Audrey who is 5. Kenny and Allyson are both in gifted classes and blow me out of the water when it comes to school work. (They don't get it from me!) azes me every day. We've lived in North Ridgeville since 1997. Had a few rough years when Tom's kidneys failed from diabetes, but his sister was a perfect match. Transplanted in August of 2003. Almost a disaster, but with lots of prayers he and his new kidney came through and both are still doing great. Both my mom and my dad have passed on, Dad in 1994 after triple by-pass surgery and Mom in 1999 after a head injury from a fall. Both horrible times in my life. My brother still lives at the house in Bay, and sister lives in Cleve Hts with her family. Kathi Kerr (now Moran) and I became re-acquainted when my husband started to work with her, and we, as well as our daughters have become good friends. I think of many of you often and hope your lives have been blessed.
