Andie's Story
Life
I left Solvay in 1978 for Texas, and
never came back. I lived in San Antonio
for 15 years where I had my own graphic
design/photography business with my
then-husband.
I got divorced and moved to Seattle in
1993 where I rekindled an old flame whom
I married. We've been together for 15
years now, and have an 13-year-old
daughter. I envy you guys who are
sending kids off to college in some
ways, but like the fact that she keeps
us young.
I still have my own business, though now
I work at home without employees, etc.
I've also been writing professionally,
and had my first feature article
published in a national magazine
(American Girl-June/July 2001) and continue to be published. I have two novels out...Expand for more
for review; wish me luck! A chapter book for tweens that I have written was selected as a finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association's literary contest. I'll find out if I won on July 18, 2008.
I love Seattle and our life here. We do
a lot of camping, backpacking, rock
climbing and mountaineering. We drink
lattes. We live in an overpriced house
(it's ridiculous what they cost here)
with a meager view of the Cascades and
Mt. Rainier and a large garden (flowers
and vegetables). We have one dog and, of
course, five cats.
I miss being surrounded by Italians and
Polaks, glorious fall days, but NOT
snow. We can get to snow within a hour's
drive to the mountains, but I don't have
to drive in it all winter.
