Life 2018
I am currently a Real Estate Broker with my own office. Andra Beatty Real Estate. My passion is church, politics and volunteering for worthy causes. I was a CASA, court appointed special advocate for foster children. We stand up on behalf of abused and neglected children in Tarrant County. I also am on the Board for the Texas Trail of Fame and a 2020 Inductee into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.
My Pets (2018 update - horses needed a job and our beloved dog passed.)
We have a dog named Annie, a palomino barrel racing horse named Branson and a White Roping/Rodeo Queen horse named Luke.
My Kids (2018 update)
They are incredible young ladies. Shayna played Varsity Tennis at Fossil Ridge and was the Rodeo Queen for the North Texas High School Rodeo Assn. She graduated from the University of North Texas and she and Brad have a beautiful girl named Grace.
Renee played varsity tennis, was the NTHSRA student board president and Rodeo Queen. Also the rodeo queen in the Stockyards at Cowtown coliseum for 4 years. 2005 she won the Keller Lions Club Fair beauty pageant and appeared in a few commercials and a TV show. Renee earned a rodeo scholarship to Ranger college. Renee now works in real estate investing and co-owns a restaurant with her husband Jason. They have one daughter and a son on the way.
My youngest Keri was a Cheerleader at Glenview Christian School, Hillwood Middle and was the #1 Varsity Tennis player at Central HS. She received a college Tennis Scholarship to NCTC. She is married to John they have an 8 year old Bryan and 3 year old Eli. John was in the Air Force in Colorado, but they are now back in Texas.
School
Among my HS friends was Glen. He was such a great guy and a very good friend to me. We had lots of Fun and laughs. He would have done anything for me. Glen helped get my Porsche out from under a Barb Wire Fence after I had run off the road. If not for Glen and Bruce I would not have ever passed Mr. Burns Geometry class. They were so smart and awesome..
Mr. James in Biology was one of the greatest teachers at Richland. He cared about the students and was...Expand for more
funny.
My favorite Memory was when Pam Upchurch and I were Sophomores. We had been practicing for a Flag Football game against the girls from Haltom. Our coaches were Richland's Football players. After practice was over, Pam and I ran out to my car. As we passed by the old baseball field we noticed the Dip in the Road ahead was Full of Water. :) I gassed it at Full Speed ahead.... Just before we hit the Dip, senior Rob Robinson-super cool Quarterback, walked out in front of us to get in his car! Too Late, he looked up at us, looked at the water beside his Ford Fairlane then frantically tried to get his car door open. He Didn't Make it! We Drenched him from Head to Toe! We were laughing so very hard, I had to pull over. The Look on his Face was Priceless. We Turned around and went back to apologize. We were still laughing so hard, it may not have seemed sincere. He was a good sport about it... Thanks Rob, it was priceless!
College
College was fun, I had started going to TCJC back when I was a Junior in High School. When I graduated Richland, I was working over 40-50 hours a week and taking care of my horse. That fall semester I was doing great at college and then a couple of ex-Trinity grads, who were AWOL from the Army took my Firebird Formula at knife point. They tossed my college school books and purse out the window somewhere between Euless and Minden, LA. Then they had a Flat and abandoned my car on the side of the road. Kevin Fennell a L.D. Bell grad, took us to pick it up. Thank goodness no real physical damage done.
But the Event scared me and changed my Attitude about working so hard, seven days a week. Without my books and no money to replace them, it was not long after that I dropped all my college courses and decided to Rodeo full time.
Billy Bobs Texas had opened that spring and I started by riding steers and yearling bulls in their Wild West Show. From there I took off across the county riding Bulls and Bareback Broncs at rodeos.
It was a great life and I qualified for our Women's National Finals 4 years in a row. I rodeoed until I got married and started a family,
