Andra's Story
Life has changed; left Wilminton at a hefty 140 pounds soaking wet, but after some good eating and hitting the gym; I added 85 pounds to my frame so I do not look like the skinny guy with the ribs showing anymore.
I've been married 25 years and I have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren; a great family. I am very involved with my church and in my community, so I and my wife have an active social life that is very fulfilling, and sometimes exhausting, but in a good way, if that is possible. I've even written a book of poetry and devotionals, my version of "the daily bread". I've lived all over the world and all over the United States, so settling in Northwest Florida was not such a dfficult choice as I was ready to set roots in a permament place for a the first time in my life, glad that my nomad years were over. After retiring from the Air Force in 2004 I went to work for the Florida Department of Health and stayed there until 2007. I the went to work for the Federal Governement at a large military hospital, and now I have finally ladned where I was aiming to be all along, Human Resources. How I got here from there is another story all by itself.
I've visited Wilmington on and off over the years, I was there last in November of 2006 for Thanksgiving; I have seen how it has changed. I get back every few years or so and I plan to go back to Wilmingon for a visit in summer of 2009.
I live in the Florida Panhandle east of Pensacola with my family.
A lot has changed in my life since graduating in 1980 from New Hanover High School. I am now a licensed minister and months away from being ordained. I teach bible study and have been doing so since 1987. I am still a fun loving person that likes to entertain friends; travel, eat out, go to amusment parks, and I love History and how things came to be.

my former classmates; mainly because I've spent a consideable portion of adult life in places far from Wilmington.I was fortunate to reconnect with an old classmate, Alexander Jackson this month (April 09), and we had a fantastic ride down memory lane. Now that I live in Florida, I understand the importance of those "corny" pictures and stories in yearbooks, they are not really meant meant for "then", they are meant for "now".
I started out in the security career field, then information security and now after gaining my Masters Degree in Healthcare Management and working for the Department of Health; I made the switch to health infomation, informatics and electronic medical records systems. Life has been good and it has certainly not been boring. Through all of these endeavors I have grown professionally and grasp knowledge that is common in administrative careers. So here I am now, a Human Resources Specialist, classiying jobs for the federal government. In a couple month, I'll move on to spend a year in Employee Realtions, and then a year in Staffing. Life has been good and God is good, all the time.

Attened a variety of colleges due to my frequent moves in the military. I have a BA Degree in Business, a MA Degree in Healtcare Administration and an incomplete (5 sh) AA in Computer Information Systems. Fortuanately for me I have been able to combined these degrees in many instances to my benefit.
Military
Enlisted in the US Air Force in 1980 straght out of New Hanover High School. Completed nearly 24 years before retiring in January 2004 in Florida out of Eglin Air Force Base. Spent almost 10 years overseas in Europe, Engalnd and the Pacific. Visited many places; Hungary, Czeh Republic, Romania, Italy, Germany, France, England, Korea, Guam, Holland, Hawaii, and Austria. I experienced some great times and had once in a lifetime opportunities. I throughly enjoyed my time active duty.
