Andre's Story

College I didn't exactly go to college after high school and knew in my heart that it wasn't for me. I wasn't the studying type. I did great the first two years of high school and slacked off the last two. Especially Senior year and I am sure I am not the only Class of '99 grad that falls into that category either, so stop laughing now. After high school, I went 2 weeks after, July 12, 1999 to be exact and started a Personal Computer Business Adminstration 7th month certification course from The Cittone Institute. I studied Microsoft Office, Windows, Business Commuications, Business Management, just to name a few. I did alot of typing. Left Cittone with a speed of 50 WPM and finished the course. I hope to go back to school again before I get married and start a family and before I go to our class reunion whenever that maybe like 5, 10 years, etc. after graduating and when we can plan a reunion whenever that maybe. Wish me luck just as we all did to each other upon graduating back in June '99. Workplace Not much to say about my work bio. After finishing Cittone in February 2000 & graduting from Cittone in May 2000, I got hired as a temp for this company called National Healthcare Resources, Inc., which is now known as Concentra Intregrated Services for 14 months, checking for duplicates in their Allstate patient claims system. This was a healthcare company that has Allstate as one of their biggest clients, then later on, I was put in their mailroom as a mailroom clerk. I went from 11.00 to start when I started to 11.30 an hour during my tenure there from February 2000 to April 2001. During this time, I looked for work, collected unemployment, after realizing how bad things were getting, had to move back home and try to get along with my mom, which to this day isn't very easy and I am sure you all can agree with me. Spent many frustrating months thereafter looking for work, while living on my own after getting into a fight at home during the summer of 2000 or around there and decided along with a friend, who worked in the mall to work there till I could find somethin...Expand for more
g, I am still in the mall to this very day, looking for full-time work outside of the mall, but under Bushonomics, it hasn't exactly gone smoothly and according to plan. I have worked in Jeepers for 18 months from February 2002 to August 2003, but left after finding the Wacky Bear Factory job I had gotten. Couldn't put up with screaming kids no more at Jeepers or at least till I have my own. Wacky Bear Factory for a month from September 2003 to October 2003, but quit after not being able to tolerate 1-2 days a week of having work and finding my present job in the mall. Wacky Bear folded soon thereafter. I spend part of the time finding my job in the mall while at Wacky Bear finding a job with more hours in the mall and making it my LAST job ever in the mall. Don't want to be 30 years old and still in the mall you know. LOL!!! I am working presently for Polo Jeans Company in Jersey Gardens as a part-time Sales Associate and have been working there from October 2003 to now. First being seasonal, but they kept me soon after and here I am working there still. While at Polo, I worked during the holiday season briefly. While there, I worked a few weeks also during holidays at GameStop at the mall too. I know the mall jobs are crap, but give me credit for having a job while others are milking the system or worse yet, have given up looking for work, etc. I am looking currently looking for a full-time office employment like a secretary, office assistant, administrative assistant, etc. and plus, I have no benefits, so it gives me every reason & incentive to leave the mall since the mall treats you like crap and don't care about you if you bust your butt or not or that every day, they have to replace employees, who quit or get fired due to the jobs or bosses. Wish me luck in my quest. After I find my so-called, "dream job", I hope of hitting the books again and going back to school and more. Wish me luck before I settle down and start a family and hopefully I will be better off than I am now & will have stories to tell you all on our class reunion on 2009, etc. and more... HOLLA!!!
