Sperreng Middle School (Lindbergh Middle School) in the St Louis suburbs of the early '70s has pungent memories for me; we were a pretty raucous bunch of little jerks. My family moved to Kirkwood around 1972-3 but I continued to hang with my friends in the Lindbergh district for a while, although I never attended Lindbergh High. Would like to hear from my old friends from that time if any are around.
Nipher Middle School in Kirkwood had more of an "inner city" feel; I got my a** kicked once or twice, but made some good friends, all of whom I have lost track of. mall town of Ocilla, where my mother's family has deep roots.
I attended and graduated from Georgia Tech (elec. engineering) in Atlanta in 1981 before heading west to Los Angeles, where I worked at local aerospace firms (Hughes Aircraft and The Aerospace Corp) and went to graduate school at UCLA, finally finishing with a PhD (elec. engineering) in 1993. I started whitewater kayaking around this time, a sport that has taken me all over the western US, and that I still love and enjoy.
Left LA for Colorado in 1997, and married my wife, Yuko, in 1998. We lived in Colorado until 2003, when we moved to the San Francisco Bay area. We now reside in Santa Clara, California with our two beagles (Alex and Momo) in a pleasant old pre-war house which we are in the process of remodeling.
