I graduated from Brewer High School May 1984. I was in Chorus my Senior year, which I really enjoyed. I took Mr. Bryan's electronics course during my 3 years at Brewer. I took this class to prepare for my future in electronics. WORK HISTORY: I joined the U.S. Army in August 1984 & left for basic training January 1985. After I completed basic training at FT. Sill, OK, I transferred to Ft. Bliss, TX for MOS (Job) training in April 1985. After this training was complete, I was sent to Germany in February 1986. I was stationed at Grafenwohr Training Post in Grafenwohr, Germany. After serving three years in the cold & deep snow, I exited the military (ETS) with an Honorable Discharge in January 1989. In February 1989, I began working for RAPAIR, Inc. in Madison, AL. Rapair, Inc. began in the garage of the founder and owner in the late 1970's and incorporated in 1983. The company remanufactured electronic ignitions for outboard marine engine. I was hired to repair Marine Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) units. In July 1990, I was promoted to Purchasing Manager. In 1991, I was ask to set-up our safety policies & serve as safety officer in addition to my purchasing responsibilities. In 1995, our sales had maxed out. The decision was made to began manufacturing aftermarket ignitions. We had to spend money on tooling to make new cases as we were at this time only reusing the old case for the reman parts with our new circuits. Our new division for these aftermarket products is CDI Electronics. Sales began to grow. Around this same time, I began assisting in the IT department at Rapair/CDI Electronics. I have over the years learned computers. I have managed to build & set-up several computers for family, friends and myself. I continued to handle all purchasing and safety matters. In 2004, Rapair was placed on the market for sale. The owners were ready to retire. By 2006 we reached sales over 5 million. In March 2007, the company was sold to some new owners. The new owners change the company name to CDI Electronics to reflect the standard and brand of the company in the marine industry. In January 2009, I was moved out of purchasing after 19 years to assist in building data for our computer system. In June 2009, I was moved to customer service/Inside sales to provide telephone and internet technical support and sales support to our customers. I was with the company for over 23 years. In 2011, I left CDI Electronics and joined Diversified Services in Hartselle as Tool Inventory Manager. Diversified Services is a utility distribution contractor with crews in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama and Florida Currently have about 89 crews and 400 men working for various customers.
