Andrew's Story

1980 to 1982 I worked for Wendy's at 2201 East Colonial Drive. After leaving Wendy's in 1982 I got work with Norrell Staffing, ( Martin Mariette Data Systems Warehouse, Moved voting machines for Orange County a few times, Southland Distribution sorting seasonal return goods, wash RVs back from the Daytona races, etc. ). Then in 1983 I worked with my father at Merrill Lynch part time than full time until the Operation Center closed and moved to Atlanta. After being on unemployment I worked for Corning factory Outlet on International Drive part time than left and went back to Norrell and worked at Proficient foods ( Distribution for Denny's ), worked in the mail room at HBJ for two weeks, then I was hired at Tenneco 10 PM to 8 AM working the gas pumps but left after two months because they take what you are short out of your pay. After that I tried to get back with Norrell however my back was hurting from those heavy boxes of dishes at Corning, 400 pounds so 1985 was a bad year. From 1983 to 1986 I did bowl league at Colonial Lanes. I did bowl Moonlight off and on, 1982-1985, 1991, 2004-2008, they have canceled Moonlight Bowling since January 2008 In 1986 I worked for Temp World, no one long assignment however a lot of mini assignments. In February 1989 I went to the first two basketball games played at the Orlando Arena, Florida against Stanford on National TV ( CBS ), plus UCF against Rollins, UCF lost bad to Rollins. In 1987 I went back to Norrell and had many repeat assignments as well as four weeks in June at the HBJ Distribution Warehouse. In July of 1989 I saw an ad for a temp job at the HBJ Distribution Warehouse for 90 days so I applied based on the job I did for Norrell in 1987, after a slowdown period they kept me after 90 days and I stayed until they closed the warehouse in March 1991, for some reason the hard work I did at HBJ did not result in a good job elsewhere. After unemployment in 1991 I tried to get back with Norrell however they had new staff and they did not seem to like me for they sent me on really poor assignments, like running up and down stairs at apartments picking up trash and than taking the trash to a on sit dumpster, I complained and got nothing after that. in late 1993 I ...Expand for more
got some assignments with Personnel Pool who bought Temp World, otherwise I just could not get good work. From 1991 to 1992 I went to many Arena Football League games ( Orlando Predators, 1991 and 1992 seasons plus the Arena Bowl against Detroit ), Orlando Magic games ( October 1991 to April 1992 ), plus many Orlando SunRays games hoping Orlando would get a major league team. Plus in 1991 I went to one UCF Football game against Troy State, Florida State against Virginia Tech and Florida against Mississippi State at the Florida Citrus Bowl. After my savings starting running out and the lack of work I stop going out to games until 1997, UCF football and basketball. In 1995 I got on with Peoplemark and had many repeat assignments by request, was Employee of the Quarter in 1996. In 1997 I was hired buy Flight Express to work in the parts department and finely work with a computer on the job, did a lot of local ( Florida ) travel when a prop or engine needed to be delivered to Tampa, Jacksonville, etc. Otherwise my job was to track parts used in Orlando, Tampa, St. Louis, Nashville, plus outside repair vendors, as well as order parts from vendors. I left in 2001 because I had a hard time getting other locations to do the proper paper work so we could track vendors and serial numbers on parts used, it made the job harder than it needed to be. In 2002 I got a long assignment with Peoplemark at AKZO NOBEL, working in the warehouse receiving, stocking and pulling orders as well as other duties however the job was only 25 hours per week, still while at Flight Express I saved money and almost made some good money with a penny stock but let it get away. In 2006 after three poor months at Harvest Foods in the AR/AP Department I was hired on at Tri Anim Health Services, warehouse work, pulling orders, checking orders, shipping orders, feedback orders, receiving, plus use the forklift and Cherry picker. I have had partial season tickets for the Orlando Magic from 2000 to 2005. I have had season tickets for UCF football, basketball, and baseball for at least six years to the present. I also have traveled to many places that the UCF basketball and football teams have played like Nashville, Memphis, Wisconsin, Alaska and Hawaii.
