Andrew's Story
Life After high school
I went to Boston University to be an international relations major. Realizing that I was just a guy from Ohio who spoke French among a sea of multinational (and multilingual colleagues), I decided that international relations wasn't the field for me. I transferred to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and became a finance major. I graduated from OU in 1998, and went to law school at The Ohio State University. I received my J.D. in 2001, and spent a year clerking for The (late) Honorable Reynaldo G. Garza, Senior Circuit Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. ey for Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, L.L.P. While in Ohio, I met my wife-to-be (Ruth), and we got married. I also started teaching at The Ohio State University College of Law as an adjunct lecturer. In August 2007, I was able to further my teaching ambitions full time when I began working as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. I'm spending the 2008-2009 school year visiting as South Texas College of Law in Houston, and continue to search for a tenure-track law teaching position. Although it has been hectic with all of the moves, life is going pretty well. I still keep in close contact with my friends from Northmont (Tad Mabry, Ben Kniesly, Kevin Kemper, Nathan Vega, Aaron Ruef, John Gorretta, Karen Boltz (now Karen Gorretta), Ted Smith, etc.). I may be coming back to Columbus at least for the 2009-2010 year, but that remains to be seen.
