Andrew's Story

I moved to Marysville in January of 96' From Portland OR and was slotted into Mrs. Pemberton's 4th grade class at Allen Creek Elementary School. The following school year I fell into Mr. McMurray's class. The only thing I really remember was the padded play area and playing Tether ball and oh yes... Wall ball and always riding my bike to school. Actually now that I think about it most of us did... or some of you were dropped off..... And there were only a couple of busses that I think Joong Kim (class mate) rode. The only people I remember were the teachers Joong and Amanda who lived on the same street as the lime green house... and my buddy Ryan McDonald and Matt Murray who was a grade lower that I lived by. While attending MMS I was in band. I selected the Trombone (bad decision) and I don't know how anyone who took band at MMS could forget the instructor Mrs. Liz Vandyke. Very short and stout woman, who for some may have lacked in providing one on one "constructive" criticism to put it nicely. In 7th grade I chose the Bass guitar (much better) but never set foot in a band room again, definitely a few garages though. My home room teacher was... I forgot his name, but he was really weird, old and portly... always wore black. I remember trying out for wrestling. I sucked. Suddenly I moved to TX during the last stretch of 7th grade... been out here ever since. For those of you that have not visited the state of Texas yet are on the right track. I remember thinking that I would be going to school with a bunch of redneck hicks somewhere between Hell and an Independent film. Surprisingly, come to find out that I had moved to what shortly became the fastest growing ...Expand for more
city in America. Lots of corporations were expanding opening up a seemingly endless supply of career advancement opportunities through relocation. that were thinking the same thing while turning up the volume on their headphones. There were hundreds of other kids, almost a melting pot if you will, of diverse backgrounds. After not constantly noticing the obvious differences of Dallas like absolutely no trees or hills/mountains, and the desert like climate... It wasn't too bad. Post Frisco High School I went to college and am currently employed with a consulting firm providing corporate solutions mainly in telecommunications(boring stuff for most) I love spontaneously going out and meeting new people and having a great time by attending parties, getting together with friends, clubbing, dining out, playing poker. Even if you don't have any friends here, there is always something going on any night of the week. I'd hate to say it but the last concert I went to was back in 06' where I saw Lamb of God and slayer... which will soon change. This year on my birthday I'm heading out to Mayhem fest at Smirnoff. Seattle is very much missed. Usually fly up there every summer. I Do have plans to visit Seattle in late August of this year. Probably take the usual tour of consisting of cruising around Seattle/Marysville checking out my old house, seeing what's different. I always check to see if that ugly, lime green house kind of across from Thriftway is still the same color. Probably stop by a few places unexpectedly. It's kinda weird how doing that stuff brings faint memories to the surface. Anyway, don't be shy and leave me a message. Myspace dot com forword slash 01agentsmith
