eral Sherman's tanks destroyed the young rebel soldier's home. The girl took pity on him and seeing the Union soldier turn brutal and hostile, her heart ultimately found refuge in the void brought by Sherman's destruction. So here we are now, 150+ years later. I think that pretty much catches you up.
