Andy's Story

After 30 years on the radio playing everything from rock to pop to country I grew tired of doing the "same thing" day in and day out. I switched to producing talk radio for Supertalk Mississippi. After 12 years of "poets priests and politicians", I decided that I needed a change. Actually, a freak accident changed that for me. I moved back home to Carthage to care for my mother in her retirement. Three weeks before that happened, she suddenly died. e 2005, I had a slip and fall accident at work that permanently shattered my right ankle. The surgery to correct, with the plate and screws, had additional problems that led to my being granted permanent disability. My down time allowed me to rechannel my energy to writing books. My first, "Down At 12" was written as a murder/mystery. My publisher reclassified it as a thriller. I am holding a copy of the book on the day that it was released in early October 2008.
